Today’s consumers expect better service, better products, and better communication with retailers. Without a single view of the customer across all channels – including social media – retailers risk alienating customers and driving them to other brands. To meet these challenges, many retailers are deploying software-as-a-service (SaaS) contact center systems that address these problems and create new opportunities. This eBook follows one shopper’s journey and how the concept of the contact center of the future provides the better overall experience.

Contact centers have long played a vital role in the insurance industry. Prospects and customers use them to get product information and quotes and then submit applications. Insurance agents and advisors rely on contact centers to tap into expertise and handle business and technical issues. Policyholders and members make inquiries or changes to their policies, or conduct financial transactions. Claimants call in to report accidents and check on the status of their claims. The list could go on, but the meaning is clear. Contact centers are major contributors to many key parts of the insurance business, especially the parts that require direct interaction with customers or agents. As a result, contact centers now play a critical role in an insurer’s journey toward becoming more customer-centric.

You've no doubt heard the question: "How do we know that social marketing drives sales?" But just as not all TV spots or billboards are intended to drive direct response, not every social marketing program is designed as a sales trigger. To measure the success of social marketing - indeed, of any marketing tactic - you need to think of your customers' journey as a board game like Monopoly. Then follow three simple steps: 1) identify which stage of the customer journey your social marketing program is designed to support; 2) measure whether your social marketing efforts have moved your customers to the next state of their journey; and 3) count how many times your customers pass "Go" so you can collect $200. If you keep your customers moving around the board, eventually, you'll win the game.
